What is Perpetual Stuff?

We believe it is the continuation of our own and everybody else's stuff. Stuff that comes from rummaging and saving. In the store there are things and inanimate treasures, unusual and useful items, old things very cared for, loved toys and fun playthings of all types. Stuff that is found, lost, bought, donated, inherited, consigned and received...lots of amusing and wonderful stuff!

Perpetual Stuff is the flow of the things of life. It houses what happens to the stuff when we no longer have a use for it. When you look at your stuff and say.."I have too much stuff!"  Maybe someone else would like this stuff. Could the stuff be sold to another and that money put to good use for yet another? Generating even more perpetual stuff? But in another way?

 In creating a way to simplify life, I opened Perpetual Stuff. We're located in the original town site of Girdwood, Alaska. Girdwood is located forty miles south of Anchorage. Old Girdwood, where the shop is located, is the second left off of the Seward Highway. The Seward Highway is the only highway going south out of Anchorage.

Our lives have gotten out of control with stuff. Now is the time to recycle and reuse. No matter what the purpose of the thing was...it can be reused. bebuilt or made into ART!

The Perpetual Stuff idea also included a way to generate money from the flow of stuff to benefit others. When you purchase something that came from a fundraiser for our local non-profits, these monies go to the  local charities and non profit organizations doing their good work here.

We sell items that are gently used and ready to be used again.

We feature Pfeifer People, original needlesculpture dolls. These dolls are complely handmade and are one of a kind. There are other fun toys, a few antiques and a great old, squeaky rocking chair, household items, some jewelry, craft items and useful items. Many usefull and interesting things are in our store.

Prices range from 0 to $500.

We sell antiques, vintage, collectible, thrift and fun things.

Come find your treasure or just something you need.

Perpetual Stuff is open in Old Girdwood, Alaska on Fridays and Saturdays or by Chance or Appointment, from 11am to 5pm.

These are the Pfeifer People

 Pfeifer People are one of a kind handmade dolls created in needle sculpture. They grew out of the imagination of Deborah Pfeifer in the late '70s. Deborah made these dolls until 2004. They are each numbered and cataloged. In total there were over 500 dolls each made by hand one at a time.
